Canada Day Community Celebration
Each year, we welcome hundreds of residents to the museum to celebrate Canada Day in a place that is so important to the history of our country.
Featuring games, bouncy castles, BBQ, live entertainments and more, this is a must attend family event. Don't worry about driving to the fireworks later in the evening. Park your car, and take the free YRT shuttle bus from the East Gwillimbury Civic Centre.
Beginning in 1831, the Children of Peace would welcome people from all over to a celebration the first Friday in September. They would light all of the candles in the Temple, hold a concert, and an Alms Giving service.
Today, we still light the main floor of the Temple with bees wax candles, and the incredible building is still filled with glorious music. We continue the evening with refreshments on the lawn afterwards, so people can enjoy the breathtaking views.
Friday, September 6th - Gates Open at 7:30 pm
